Stained Glass Class Copper Foiling Technique
Wanting to try your hand at Stained Glass then come spend a day with me in my welcoming small studio in the beautiful village of Dyffryn Ardudwy, Gwynedd making your own finished and hanging stained glass suncatcher. The Class offers you a chance to learn
this beautiful artisan craft in a relaxed and informal setting.
Running from 10am till 5 pm for a minimum of 2 students for a truly individual tuition costing £120.00 per person with all materials included. A half day option at £60.00 pp is also available starting at 10am till 2pm for a smaller finished piece.
This course is suitable for complete beginners or if you are looking to refresh or expand on your skills then I am here to guide you. There will be plenty of time for individual help, questions and encouragement.
You will learn :
- An overview of stained glass, tools and materials used
- Selecting your pattern and glass
- Practicing glass cutting on clear glass
- Cutting and breaking glass for your chosen design
- Glass grinding
- Applying copper foil and burnishing
- Soldering your piece together
- Cleaning, finishing and polishing your piece
- Adding hanging hardware to display your work.

As well as your enthusiasm :
Please wear clothes that you are happy to get dirty and wear closed toe shoes.
Please tie up loose hair.
I will provide gloves and safety glasses but please let me know if you are allergic to any disposable glove type.
Please bring a small lunch with you, biscuits and cuppas are provided throughout the day in a space separate from the workshop.
Due to the nature of the materials/chemicals used in this class it is sadly not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
The course is currently not available for under 18's
If you have any mobility issues, please let me know when booking as access may be difficult due to the layout of my garden and house, I may be able to arrange a more suitable premises locally for a lesson.
